There is no cash for clunkers car list.  The best car to purchase under the cash for clunkers program is any car that exceeds the mileage of the trade-in vehicle by 10mpg to qualify for the maximum $4500 credit rebate. There are lists of cars out there, but since the 10mpg improvement is based on YOUR trade in vehicle, there is no way to know if those cars are the best option for YOUR circumstances until you compare the mileage.

Lastly, a few notes

1. You can receive a tax credit for buying a qualified hybrid vehicle that will further reduce the cost of your new car under the cash for clunkers program. The hybrid credit is limited by quotas, which have been filled for the most popular hybrid vehicles such as the Toyota Prius, but less popular hybrid options, such as the offerings from Ford, may still qualify for a tax credit. 2.Chrysler ends its cash for clunker matching discount today. So if you had your heart set on a Chrysler today is your last chance to save an additional $4500.

3. There seems to be growing support in the Senate for additional cash for clunker funds. Please consider contacting your senator to request they support this program that is boosting both local and national economies as well as assisting consumers.
